Customer Question

Bought a vauxhall insignia 1.8i 16v sri nav on friday. In 2 days a warning came up saying coolant level was low and to top up. When opened cap to filler bottle the level went from way below minimum level to just above max fill level?

Welcome to Just answer, the level of the coolant should only be checked when the engine is cold as it expands and retracts with temperature and it should be on the centre line of the tank.

The level would have risen when you topped it up as it was under pressure before the cap was released.

I hope this helps, best regards, Vauxdoc.
