Hi..there..

Do you get the EML/car spanner warning up on the dash when this ocurrs or prior to the engine cutting out?

I note you mention the cam sensor? was this actually stored as a fault code?

Hi..

If the EML comes on when the fault ocurrs then you need to see what fault codes the ecu is storing - any scanner should be able to do that for you.and i would advise that be your next step from here..normally the best method is to have the diagnostic scanner plugged in and the car driven..when the fault occurrs then you can see looking at the livedata what sensor/component is dropping out or what code is stored...But i wouldnt go replacing parts that dont require replacement - The most common we see in regards ***** ***** like that are the crank speed sensor open circuit as this primarily sends info to the ecu for spark..so if you dont get spark at the coil then that maybe your issue there..another is a fuel pressure maybe failing pump/or circuit fault that can be quite common...another is a open short/circuit in the ecu circuit board itself..sadly to diagnose that would require tech2....but as above if you havent actually got the fault codes retrived yet when the fault ocurrs? then you need to that to be able to progress forward and give an idea what area of the engine/management system is at fault...
