Hi..there.. I see your question hasnt been responded too yet..do you still require any help?

If so are there any warnings up on the dash when this happens?

Whats its service / repair history - aswell as mileage?

no warning light and no service history

Hi..

Ok..If there's no service history - then id say the best approach from here would be the get the transmission fluid changed out - normally that procedure is adopted when such issues above occur..especially so if its temperature related issue or the gearbox in itself is overheating..it could be the oil in the box is old or low even and needs replaced..they then can inspect the oil thats comes out and see if its black/smells burnt - if thats the case then sadly the internals of the gearbox is beyond economical repair and you would be looking at aquiring another/reconditioned gearbox to fitted in,you could of course have auto transmission specialist check this and maybe worth doing if you have one locally...another likely cause could be the valve body wearing but tests on the the gearbox ECU for fault codes on a diagnostic scanner should be carried out...You dont mention who/where you bought the vehicle from...but if it was from reputable dealer then they should if a warranty is in place to resolve or at least check this out for you...I do hope this helps
