2005 zafira, new clutch, new master cylinder however when the

Resolved Question:

2005 zafira, new clutch, new master cylinder however when the engine is running I can not select 1st or reverse. I can select 2nd 3rd ect but it's a struggle. When the engine is off I can select all gears with no issues
Please help already sank £1000 into this car need it fixing

Hello and Welcome - My name is ***** ***** issue - I note what you have said you have changed - but you don't mention the slave cyl... was that replaced as part of the "kit" or not.. if not - that is your most likely issue...If that has been replaced, then it sounds like the centre plate has been damaged - twisted when fitting. The issue with not being able to select first or reverse is common / fits the symptoms of a damaged disc.... or... its sticking on the gearbox spline.. did you clean and grease the spline? Bear that in mind too.Its common to damage / twist the clutch plate when refitting the gearbox - you have to be very careful with that... or.. you could have been supplied a faulty one, that does happen.So you need to work through checking as above... Im afraid it will have to be stripped again for any of the above....Let me know how you go..and / or let me know if you need anything further on this..~>>~~>>~ Meanwhile now - Please do click on the "Exc / Ok rating" for me at this time.. as far as I am aware the slave cylinder was replaced, I have all three parts of the old clutch in the back of the car. problem is that the mech doing the work has now disappeared and taken my money with him

Oh dear... Well theres no telling what he has done then.. Im afraid it really is going to have to be stripped I would say.I would suggest to have another garage just take a look / test drive.. see what they say being able to actually drive / feel it.. and go from there then..Its not good news Im afraid - thats the best way forward on this one I would say - just in case there is anything that can be done without re stripping...
