Hi There

gpvet :

i'm Debbie

gpvet :

How is Olivia in herself? Is she eating and passing normal faeces as well?

JACUSTOMER-823swubg- :

Im not sure ive only just seen it.

gpvet :

It certainly sounds very odd!

gpvet :

I wonder if it is inspissated pus or vaginal discharge?

gpvet :

Can you pick her up an turn her over to see if there is any other discharges visible?

gpvet :

does she live with any other guinea pigs?

JACUSTOMER-823swubg- :

there is just a bit of white slime..

gpvet :

ok sounds like probably a vaginal discharge. Is there any chance she has been with a male?

JACUSTOMER-823swubg- :

she is in a hutch with mammy and a male that is about 15-16 months

gpvet :

has she put on any weight recently? I wonder if she is giving birth.....

JACUSTOMER-823swubg- :

we have only had herself and mammy a week. Harry (the male) we have had about 5 months. OMG! could she really be pregnant?

gpvet :

ok, if you have only had her a week then your male is obviously not the father!

gpvet :

Pregnancy is possibility..... My differentials for large amounts of vaginal discharge include parturition (giving birth), womb infection, or possibly urinary issues (there is a common opening).

JACUSTOMER-823swubg- :

slut!

gpvet :

Nature :)

gpvet :

Of course if the discharge is from the anus, it could be a colitis type issue as well.

gpvet :

I would monitor closely for a while - we need to know if she is going to give birth, and if not whether she is eating and passing normal poo.
