Customer Question

How much bute would you give a miniture shetland pony of 28 years old for laminitis

Good Morning and welcome to Just answer. I am Dr. Loretta, a licensed veterinarian and I am happy to answer your question.

The dose of Butazoldin is 2-4 grams per 1000 pounds of their weight....for a miniature pony weighing around 3-400 pounds, I would give 1 grm every 12 hrs. laminitis requires a strong dose to stop the process quickly before the lamina separate.

Does that make sense to you?

Please let me know if you have ANY other questions. My goal is to give you 100% satisfaction and if you are not yet satisfied, please Reply so I can clarify for you

Sincerely, Dr. Loretta
