My dog a terrier got beaten up by a Labrador last Thursday,

Resolved Question:

My dog a terrier got beaten up by a Labrador last Thursday, he had a few cuts and swollen eyes which have since almost healed. I live quite remote so my vet advised me to give him aspirin which we stooped a few days ago. He is eating, drinking peeing a pooing but we are worried about his breathing. When he first gets up he seems okay but then all of a sudden after around five minutes or when he has eaten he makes this horrific noise like he's gasping for air and wimpering. His gums are pink but I am still concerned about a collapsed lung?

Scott Nimmo :

Hello and welcome. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon, I will be very pleased to work with you today and will try my best to answer your question to your satisfaction.

Scott Nimmo :

I know this may not be easy for you but this does sound quite serious, you could b eright about a collapsed lung but other diagnosis are also possible.

Scott Nimmo :

The snag is that ther eis nothing whatsoever you can do for Bert on a home remedy basis, you have to somehow get him to a vet ASAP

Customer:

Okay so your advise would be to go to the vet?

Scott Nimmo :

I wish I could suggest something more, but those sadly are the facts ...

Customer:

Okay thanks

Scott Nimmo :

Yes, get Bert to a vet ASAP ...
