Aloha! You're speaking with Dr. Michael Salkin
Buzzards are obligate carrion eaters and so Mimi is safe from them. Red kites, however, could present a small risk. They're neither particularly strong nor aggressive, however, despite being large birds. They, too, are primarily a scavenger and an opportunist; sheep carrion is preferred but this bird isn't able to open up sheep or lamb carcasses by itself and has to wait until more powerful birds such as ravens or buzzards have made the first inroads before it will attempt to feed.

Red kites are however predators and take a wide variety of live prey, ranging from earthworms to small mammals such as Mimi, amphibians and birds. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
