Dr. Drew :

Hello, thanks for your question today! I am Dr. Drew, and I am a licensed veterinarian. I'll be happy to help you in any way I can.

Dr. Drew :

drooling is usually a sign of nausea, which of course would also explain the lack of appetite and lethargy.

Dr. Drew :

however, there's many possible underlying causes that might be to blame here,

Dr. Drew :

ranging from minor gastritis (stomach irritation) from eating something inappropriate,

Dr. Drew :

to things such as liver or kidney problems,

Dr. Drew :

or even something such as a blockage of the intestine, or a tumor in the abdomen.

Dr. Drew :

these are all possibilities.

Dr. Drew :

I would have to strongly suggest veterinary attention if this issue is not improving within 12 hours of when it began.

Dr. Drew :

You can try giving a dose of Meclizine,

Dr. Drew :

which is sold without a prescription as a motion sickness medicine for people,

Dr. Drew :

25mg every 12 hours is a reasonable dose for a dog of Kai's size.
