Avian flu advice

Customer Question

Good morning sorry for such a late question but I'm very anxious that my chickens have bird flu and I have been exposed to it. It sounds far fetched I know. I took in six rescue hens from a free range farm on Saturday. Yesterday one started sneezing so I removed it from the group and put it into the shed. Today I took it to the vet who said either change in environment or bacterial infection and gave me antibiotics. A few hours later one by one all the chickens started sneezing. As I have been in direct contact I am terrified they have something more than a bacterial infection. I also started to get a cold on Saturday after I collected them which I put down to an allergy of having 16 birds in my car. Is it likely they have been exposed to avian flu. I checked with the rescue coordinator and she hasn't been told of any other problems.hope you can put my mind at rest. Thank you
