Dr. Susan :

Hi, I can help you with your question today.

Dr. Susan :

How much does your dog weigh?

Customer:

my dog weighs about 17kilos

Customer:

she is an English Bull Terrior

Dr. Susan :

Does she have any health problems? Liver or kidney disease?

Customer:

no

Customer:

not tham i am aware of anyway

Dr. Susan :

Great.

Dr. Susan :

I recommend using an 81mg buffered aspirin in this situation.

Dr. Susan :

You can give it every 12 hours as needed for pain.

Dr. Susan :

Discontinue if you see any vomiting or diarrhea.

Customer:

ok but if i don't have any asprin? i have ibrufeon and i have sulphadol will these be of any use? sorry but i am miles from anywhere and have no transport

Dr. Susan :

Do NOT use ibuprofen, this is toxic to dogs.

Dr. Susan :

Do you know the dose in mg of the solpadol that you have?

Customer:

i will have a look

Customer:

ok each tablet is 500mg

Customer:

and it is spelt Solpadol

Customer:

thanks

Dr. Susan :

OK, you can give her 1/4 tablet every 12 hours of the Solpadol - this is acetaminophen and codeine.

Customer:

i also have Paracetamol 500mg

Dr. Susan :

Paracetamol is also acetaminophen, just without the codeine. I don't think her level of pain requires codeine, so you could give her 1/4 tablet of the Paracetamol every 12 hours instead.

Customer:

ok thats great thank you
