Dr. Barbara :

Hi, Welcome to JustAnswer. I am a licensed veterinarian and I'm here to help you. I think what you are describing in Prince is his "skirt". . .at least that is what I have always called this. Even some cats that are thin will have this. . .or an overweight cat will get fat tissue layed down here.

Dr. Barbara :

The best way for me to tell would be if you can send a picture of this area to me. Two angles would be good. . .one a profile of his body when he is standing, and one with him laying on his back. Would this be possible?

Hi Kim,
Thank you for your very kind rating. . .greatly appreciated.
I do wish we could talk a little more about Prince's swelling. I do imagine that it is his skirt that has become fatty. Pictures would probably clear this up, but if you have no pictures, perhaps we could arrive at a more solid diagnosis through our conversation.
If you'd like, we can continue. Even after a rating, this thread does stay open at no extra charge, so if you'd like to continue, please just let me know.
