Dr. Susan :

Hi, I can help you with your question today.

Dr. Susan :

The changes that you have noticed with him are very concerning.

Dr. Susan :

Inappetence and lethargy are fairly non-specific though.

Dr. Susan :

Can you lift his lip and look at his gums? What color are they?

Customer: Pale pink
Customer: Hello, his gums are pale pink
Dr. Susan :

OK. Is he having any increased effort to breathe?

Customer: No
Dr. Susan :

OK. Has he had any vomiting or diarrhea?

Customer: He vomited this morning
Dr. Susan :

Could he have gotten into the garbage, chewed up a toy, etc?

Customer: No
Dr. Susan :

Excellent. Have you given any people food? Any diet changes recently?

Customer: We went away to the seaside last week & he hasn't been the same since we've been back, I gave him some liver yesterday as he was off his food
Dr. Susan :

I see.

Dr. Susan :

Since you were at the seaside, we can see unusual ingestions (such as sand) or water borne parasites like giardia.

Dr. Susan :

I recommend having him evaluated by your local vet. I would start with a physical exam, stool sample to look for parasites, and x-ray to look for foreign material or evidence of obstruction.

Customer: Ok thank you for your help
Dr. Susan :

You're very welcome. Please let me know if you have further questions. I am happy to continue until I provide the service that you seek.

Customer: I will contact my local vet and see how it goes
Dr. Susan :

Great. Please feel free to send any questions for second opinion to me! I will try to contact you in a few days to see how he is feeling.

Customer: Many thanks.
Dr. Susan :

Again, you're welcome :)
