Hi I know this sounds silly but my year old in tact British bulldog has been ill I've taken him to vets but just wondered I have 2 spayed bitches and he becomes very sexually excited could this be making him unwell thank you

No, it's not silly; in fact, his sexual excitement can induce acute prostatitis. His vet should rectally and abdominally palpate your bulldog's prostate. Signs of prostatitis are often associated with systemic illness. Early signs may be nonspecific but we eventually may see tenesmus (straining to defecate), dysuria (difficulty urinating), lethargy, anorexia, weakness, stiff gait, and hematuria (blood in the urine). It's not unusual for owners to report minimal clinical signs - at least early in the disease process.
