Customer Question

My dog has recently had a lump removed from his outer ear which has proved to be benign. My insurance company has refused to pay my claim as he has a history of inter digital cysts dating back to before my current insurer. The insurers claim that the two conditions are related as they are both 'cysts'.
Please can you advice if this is correct?

Aloha! You're speaking with Dr. Michael Salkin
I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. No, it's not correct. There should be no connection between interdigital cysts (they're actually not cysts but either abscesses or pyogranulomas) and a benign lump from his outer ear. Your vet can write a out an affidavit which you can then submit to your insurance company.
