Hi my guinea pig is pregnant. She has had a scan and I was told they could see the babies spinal cord there's at least 2 but they didn't give me a rough due date can you help plwase

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner, Lyndsey. The gestation period for guinea pigs ranges between 59-72 days (average, 68 days). If spinal cords have mineralized, Chewy is likely to be at least 40-45 days along. Litter sizes range between 1-13 (2-4 is usual). Normal birth weight is 45-115 g (70-110 g is usual) and weaning age is 21 days (or at 180 g body weight).Normal parturition is typically rapid with only a few minutes between births. Guinea pigs don't build nests. Although otherwise completely herbivorous, guinea pigs are placentophagic. In addition to the mother, males and other females may also consume the placenta.Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
