I have a Quaker parrot who is about 3 years old about 2years

Customer Question

Hi I have a Quaker parrot who is about 3 years old about 2years ago he self harmed himself under his wing the vet gave him spot on and anti biotics and he stopped last Friday he did it again but on his leg. Vet gave the same as before . Since then he has been very sleepy and still hitting himself a bit and making it bleed. But doesn't seem as bad he is eating but not as much as before. Just wanting to know does the spot on last this long making him asked like that or is it the blood lose? Any advice would be welcome please. Thankyou.

Sarah, can you tell me the active ingredient in this "spot on"?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The vet put 5 drops on the back of his neck I don't know the name of it

This was last Friday. Week tomorrow

I understand, Carl. Without knowing what those drops contained we can't know which adverse effects, if any, are expected. I have to refer you back to your parrot's vet for that information. Birds can replace their blood very rapidly and so blood loss isn't expected to be causing his malaise. Please continue our conversation if you wish.
