Customer Question

Hello I have a five year old Pomeranian who seems to be having a problem breathing. He breathes very quickly and shallowly. He makes a lot of noise, snoring and generally is just very noisy breathing and panting. I would say it has got worse and this am he seemed really to struggle.
I have had his fur cut to make him cooler.
He is fit and enjoys walks twice a day. He is not greedy. Will often go a day without then eat the following day.
Should I take him to our vet? Has he a bad heart? He recently had teeth out no one commented on a bad heart or anything. Am I just worrying! Thank you x Cherry

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.

How long has he had these signs?

Does he have any coughing, sneezing or discharge from his eyes or nose?

Are his gums pink or pale/white?
Can you take a breathing rate for me (just count his breaths for 10 seconds + multiply that by 6)?
