If that all it took I would not have asked the question, I had already done reset all and it made no difference. did it again ang it made no difference again.
Before I asked the question I did all the basics including removing the battery etc. I will try one again
Ok it is 23.33 now in the UK so will leave it out until the morning then let you know what h happens
No change. The camera still works and a number of the menu functions can be performed using the control nobs and they work as well. So it seems like it is a fault with the way the software is being displayed. Is t here any way to wipe and then reinstall the software.
I have done this once so camera software is already upgraded. I don't think it let's you upgrade again but will try.
Have done so and it did not work because when I go to firmware the camera does not see the upgrade file because it is already upgraded so gives no option to upgrade

Thanks I am hoping you come up with some ideas because if I take it back to Nikon they will charge a high repair fee but it may be the only option.
