Freddy, I thought I sent a msg but maybe you didn't receive

Customer Question

Freddy, I thought I sent a msg but maybe you didn't receive it. I have a Panasonic Lumix dmc-lx7. The mode dial and the on/off buttons work but that is it. At first the zoom lever froze at 7.5x. Then everything else froze. Camera still displays settings but I can't use any buttons. I have removed and replaced the battery and have removed the memory card. I would appreciate any help as I am on vacation and missing some great pictures. Thanks.

I apologize I was offline when you posted this. I look forward to assisting and am very sorry to hear that you are having this problem.
I want to warn you that it is possible you will need to replace a part in order to fix this.
There are a few different things that can cause this and a couple different parts so we would need to troubleshoot to find out .
Does the camera show an error? Is the lens stuck extended?

If you push down hard on any of the buttons do they do anything? How old is the camera? If over a year old did you happen to get an extended warranty?

Nothing happens when I push down hard. I don't think I have an extended warranty. Bought it thru amazon. Bought one son 5 yers ago and no problem. This is just over a year old.

Amazon usually has really good customer support but it would not be under warranty over a year old. Did anything change when you tried it with just the battery and no memory card?

Not sure but it does seem to take a picture but at 7.5. Since I can't change to view mode I am not certain.
