My S1500 camera will not display anything in either the viewfinder or the LCD.

Hi, By displays nothing, do you mean, in all modes and functions, including menus and playback? Is your camera a Fujifilm Finepix S1500?

Yes s1500. Nothing on either EVF or LCD. they are totally dead in all modes.

Sorry for the delay. The Net was down in my area. Your description indicates that the issue is being caused by either bad connection from the 2 LCDs to the output of the main circuit board or a failed component on the board. In either case, the camera will need to be disassembled and troubleshot. If the issue is just the connection, a local shop should be able to handle a fix for £15 or less. A circuit board issue may require 2 to 3 times the cost if the replacement parts can be obtained. Note: Considering the age and present value of this camera, paying the cost of having it repaired , approximately £15 - £45 really depends on how attached to the camera you are. The standard "rule of thumb" is if the repair cost is greater than 50% of the value of the camera, it is not worth it. A good used Finepix S1500 can be found online for as low as £10 to £25. Please keep in mind that my diagnosis & solutions provided are directly dependent on the accuracy of your description of the problem. As with any "do it yourself" fixes, success is a "team effort", since I can't see or touch the camera, and relies on the customer's manual dexterity and ability to follow the instructions well.
