Hello there,
I've been working hard to find a Professional to assist you with your question, but sometimes finding the right Professional can take a little longer than expected.
I wonder whether you're ok with continuing to wait for an answer. If you are, please let me know and I will continue my search. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question for you.
Please note, I am just a moderator for this category, I can only try and find experts to help, I can't answer the question itself.

Hello and thank you for your question. I look forward to assisting you today. Just to make sure I understand the problem, is this a recording format, NTSC vs PAL or a zone issue?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I believe that it would be PAL UK

Okay thank you. Above you stated "this eventually became u/s". Can you explain further please so I can better understand how you are trying to play the disc?

The DVD recorder became faulty and was discarded. Tried running the DVD on several players and indeed several computer drives but on each occasion it has shown up as an unrecognisable format. I assumed that this be a Panasonic format and
recently I replaced the DVD player with a Panasonic DMP-DDT360 Blur Ray player which also said unrecognisable format.Hope that this helps.

I think the best option would be to use a player that can play both PAL and NTSC format as well as any zone. Check this LINK and you will see what I am referring to.
