Customer Question

Help please.
03 reg V70 manual. No problems for years, regular service then this morning drive out of garage, slot into reverse, engage clutch, a slight zzzzing sound from gearstick and no drive!
Any gear engaged no drive. Clutch feels fine, engine sweet as always, just no power of any sort delivered to wheels.

Any ideas?

Hi..

.

Hopefully i can help..

.

There is a chance if all gears seem to engage as they should and the clutch pedal feels ok..then the chances are this is likly clutch failure/driveplate if the noise you hear always occurs when when you have in any gear and lift the clutch pedal - if there has been somesort of clutch judder or slipping or burning smell even even ie:- revs seems to be higher than normal without much speed out the car before hand then as above is most likly issue i would say.also check for any fluid leaks from the gearbox/clutch slave cylinder - another possibility is an internal problem with the gearbox itself for example the differential section of the gearbox has failed this is the section of the gearbox you see both driveshaft enter - also too inspect both driveshaft any just to be sure they are still intact..but as above by your description i certainly seems to point to either of the above.but the best advice would be to have good local garage or reputable mobile mechanic come out to the car to verify this is the case..i do hope this helps.
