hi - my wife has arthritis and finds the steering a bit heavy

Customer Question

hi - my wife has arthritis and finds the steering a bit heavy for her wrists but as she loves her 2006 2.5T is there a mod the 'lighten' the steering?

Ive has the front tryes/wheels checked for alignment, toe-in and camber but everything is ok.

Hi..

Hopefully I can help..

As far as I know there is no real easy fit on modifications you can do to the steering system to increase assistance to make it lighter - the only way that can be done is to have the steering system modified properly by specialists who converts steering systems to suit the needs such as yourself/disabled etc in which there a few companies on line that do carry out such mods..as depicted below for example and maybe worth contacting. This is on the understanding there isn't actually any wrong with the steering system on the car at the moment that's making it slightly heavier for example seized balljoints lower or top strut mount bearing etc.i do hope this helps
