Volvo c60 won't start when key (cartridge) inserted. The message

Customer Question

Volvo c60 won't start when key (cartridge) inserted. The message comes up steering lock and the lock won't release. I have had the AA out and a they released it by luck not any great skill.
Diagnostic errors are
Monitoring processor internal control module - Algorithm error - P160868
CAN communication with anti theft device No signal UO 16700
It happened twice today and I have had previous problems about 6 months ago when we replaced both key batteries
I would be grateful for any advice

Before replacing a module I try doing software is modified ad updated and can resolve issue but if persist the problem Is in module . Do total can reload software called at volvo garage can only be done !

Not sure what your answer is other than take it to a Volvo garage?? You haven't answered it specifically .

I work for volvo dealer I was saying change software update before you replace any modules softwares updates cure most problems i was saying VOLVO garage an only do software updates
