You did right step change fluid now if is good I would not do much . I would still try fresh software upgrade for transmission they changed few parameters how it shifts and controlled . But keep changing now fluid every year for best results to prevent any problems internally what can develop. .

I don't fully understand your answer. The transmission fluid was changed 6 months ago with a quality product and since then the car has been ok.

A few days ago It suddenly lost drive although there is plenty of power from the engine. It cannot be driven in its current state. Is this likely to be a problem with the gearbox TCM.

It looks is internal trans problem but I try software flash also first that can help
