A galaxy s3 mini was factory reset and all information deleted.

A galaxy s3 mini was factory reset and all information deleted. Is there anyway I can retrieve deleted text messages and phone log? It is a phone my husband has and when I found it , he had factory reset it. I sent it to sytech to be forensically examined but they couldnt get anything. They could just tell there were valor of texts and phone log deleted. If I send to Samsung directly can they retrieve even a couple of deleted messages, just so I can understand what is being hidden? Thanks, orla

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if the phone was reset the only chance to get any content would be if the phone had any backups.
I have a feeling the forensics team would have checked this but if not lets just try these steps.

Power off your device completely.
Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously.
Release the buttons when the phone’s screen flickers or the Stock / CWM / TWRP Recovery logo appears.
That is it, after you release buttons, you will be taken to the main Recovery Mode menu.

scroll with the volume up or volume down to get to Backup and restore.
hit the power key to get into the back up and restore menu.

On the resultant menu go to restore from back up and hit power again.

If there are any backups they should be listed with the dates.

if none exist on this list then we are out of luck unfortunately.

Please try these steps and let me know.

good luck
