Hi, I have a nexus7 (2013) stuck on the google logo, have been throught the recovery screens but cant get to the android to progress any further. Any idea what to do next?
Hi! My name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you. Let's get started!

  1. If your tablet is on, turn it off.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down button, then press and hold the Power button at the same time until the tablet turns on. You'll see the word "Start" with an arrow around it.
  3. Press the Volume Down button twice to highlight "Recovery mode."
  4. Press the Power button to start Recovery mode. You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark and the words "No command."
  5. While holding down the Power button, press and release the Volume Up button once.
  6. Press the Volume Down button twice to highlight "wipe data/factory reset," then press thePower button to select it.
  7. Press the Volume Down button seven times to highlight "Yes - erase all user data," then press the Power button to select it.

Note: If your tablet becomes unresponsive at any point during these steps, you can restart it by holding down the Power button for several seconds.

Hi, Did as requested, no android, just goes back to the google logo and does nothing. I have tried each of the options available with the same result. It will however turn offSmile

Please make sure you are actually powering off the tablet before following the steps. (A black screen does not mean it is turned off, it could just be in standby mode)

definitely powers off, have tried several times, I haven't played around with any rooting options either, before you ask, I have been getting an 'internal error' message when I open email, but the email worked fine, that started about two months ago. Apart from that it's been performing well.

If your tablet will not respond to the factory reset option and it will not go past the logo screen then it has hardware failure. How old is the tablet?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

August 2013 (new model)

Unfortunately, it is slightly outside of the warranty period (1 year) but ASUS is normally helpful if it is close to your warranty expiration.

Please call 1-888-678-3688 and let them know that your tablet is having hardware failure. Also, let them know that we have performed the factory reset steps and it is stuck on the logo screen.
