i have a Samsung galaxy tablet 10.1 The problem i am having is that recently my e mails have not been displaying properly, most of the categories on the left hand side are missing and any incoming e mails only display once, when i go to the account again they disappear! I suspect that the e mails are in fact still on the tablet but I don't no how to access them. Can you please help?

can you tell me please, are you using an App you downloaded ? Or the inbuilt email app?

First, can you power off the Tablet by holding the power button until you see a menu, and choose power off.
Once odd, power on the Tablet, open the emails and tell me if they now appear please.

I powered down then back on again, four e mails arrived from yourselves,so I closed the emails opened them again and watched them disapear one by one same as before.

It appears the Tablet is doing this to save space.
Can you go to the App Store and download the app

Install it and set it up email account

sorry was unable to find an app of that name in the galaxy app store.

ok, use a - between K and 9
So k-9 mail
Normally does not matter, but may be ignoring it.

ok found the app and installed it,no messages on view

Can you send an email from within the App?

tried sending two e mails, but both are stuck in the out box !

ok, it looks as though the Tablet is corrupt.
Do you have any data you need to save off the Tablet? As we will need to reset it.

nothing I cant reload again

Can you on the Tablet, go to Settings, found in the Apps Menu.
Choose Privacy.
Choose Factory Data Reset.
Touch the Reset Tablet button.
Touch the Erase Everything button to confirm
Let it complete, then setup the tablet again, add your email account and tell me if it now functions correctly please.

sorry delay,but having deleted everything on the tablet, I am now unable to re-connect to the wi fi this from my desktop

No problem.
To clarify, you mean you cant connect the Tablet to the wifi?

Thats right,it keeps repeating. Authentication error occured.

ok, remove the power from the wifi router and wait 2 minutes.
Plug the power back in, wait 2 minutes then try to connect to the wireless.
If it still fails, it is the password ***** the problem. Where are you getting this from?

Ok done all that,plus I have re-set my password ***** the wi-fi and checked that it works. The tablet still wont have it. I use Virginmedea

Then tap on it and connect.

no change i'm afraid, was wondering if my router is now at fault, though it does seem that would be a rather large coincidence

no, I can't get my phone to connect either

ok, then it is the router thats faulting.
Or your entering in the wrong password.
Reset the router again and double check the password ***** entering in.

right, I have been in to the router, changed the password, come out then used the new password ***** go in again,all ok. but no good when I try to connect the tablet

ok, unless your using the wrong password, the wireless antenna on the router has failed or the internal memory, it is the only reason and can explain the issues you were initially having on the Tablet.
These problems can worsen, and when reinstalling it, if it encountered a faulting component, it would have left it disabled.
From the symptoms your describing, this is most likely and you are going to have to have the router replaced sorry.

If in fact it is the router that is the cause of my problems it shouldn't be too big a deal as I am on contract and should get it replaced

Two devices not connecting, and if your sure of the password, then it has to be the router. It is not the firmware as we have reset it twice now, so will be the router faulting.
It is the only logical cause, and once you have it replaced, the devices can connect again and the Tablet will function correctly.
I have though marked the question to never close, so any issues, just let me know please.
