Ok, can you tell me please what then happens when you try to receive mail?

Because the refresh to update does not refresh and stays at at previous date, with no new emails showing but they do show on my samsung phone

Remove the charger from the Tab and hold the power button to off for 60 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and turn on the Tab and tell me if it then starts receiving emails.
Let me know the results please

Everything is still the same no email showing o the tab but am using my phone to answer

We will remove and add the email account back to the Tab
To do this
From the home screen, tap Email.
While viewing the account to be deleted, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap Delete account.
Tap Delete.
You've now removed the email account.
Then to add it again
Press Home key and touch Menu key Menu > Settings > Add account > Email.
Enter your email address in the Email address (*****@******.***) field.
Enter your password ***** the Password ***** To see your password ***** you enter it, touch Show password.
If necessary, touch Send email from this account by default to set this account as your default email.
Touch Done on keyboard to start automatic email setup. If you need to configure custom settings, touch Manual setup and then enter your settings. These may include mail type, user name, password, server, security type, etc.
Follow the on-screen prompts to configure options for the account.
Tell me please if it then receives emails

Why does this happen ?
The mail profile got corrupted, so it needed to be recreated.
It can happen on Android devices, it will now be ok though
