I have also restarted and that failed. Then disabled and then got the first window of gmail app as if just beginning again. But then it reverted to Gmail has stopped message.

Gmail keeps stopping

Go to settings, applications manager, use the three dots in the top right to choose show system apps

Locate Google Services Framework

Press it and clear the data

Then restart and tell me if the phone then works please

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
In s playground with grandchildren will follow up later. But if you lead my notes I cleared cache and data yesterday.

yes, I read your notes, you did not do it for the Google Services Framework..

Did you see the instructions I just sent you?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Will follow up later. Kids call

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Popped into O2 and they sorted it.

yes, they will have done the instructions I gave you.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
No they did something else. They went "gmail app " to three dots in corner then "uninstall updates " and then reinstalled updates - got distracted by kids at the last bitWhen I use your system it is called "Apps" not apps manager. And then having pressed 'google services framework' I could not see the 'clear the data' heading

It is under storage, ass with all apps there.

Let me know if you need anything else please

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
OK found it it now. That was the missing bit.
Nothing else thanks
