You can only restore to a backup point if there is a backup made online. On your phone, open the Settings app, select Accounts and Backup > Backup and Restore > Restore data. If there is any backup points available, it will show there.

We did try the restore before, and it offered the day required 5th August, but it did not send the required code to continue. If I restore again I am worried I will lose everything. Do you think we should go ahead and try again?

If you restore a backup, that may delete all the existing contents and replace with that backup

Your phone doesn't support remote connection and it was an automatic offer from this site. If you read my original answer, you can see that I've asked not to accept that offer as it is not applicable to this question. So the security deposit you made for remote will be refunded.

If you already tried restoring from the backup, then I'm afraid there is no other way to restore it a earlier date. It doesn't have a built in feature like this.
