Came across a coin near the roadside, is it worth anything?

Customer Question

Came across a coin near the roadside, is it worth anything?
JA: The Appraiser can help. You can also send photos once I've connected you. Do you know where the coin is from?
Customer: Newbury Berkshire is where it was found
JA: Do you know how old the coin is? What condition is it in?
Customer: No idea how old, condition looks poor
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Appraiser should know?
Customer: No

I have been sent two photos of your 'coin'. Sadly the condition does not allow me to say any more than that it is non-ferrous and most likely bronze. Detail could be revealed by x ray and other technologies. The values of copper and bronze coins though means that it is unlikely to be worthwhile spending any money at all trying to identify it.

The British Museum will look at ant items that the public submit for identification and they do not charge for that service. Wish I could be more helpful. Best wishes. Greg
