Customer Question

Hi my neff s5443x1gb/29 model integrated dishwasher seems to have a broken latch. It won't close all the way but when it is turned on it starts to run without the door being fully closed. How can I unlock the catch to get it to close all the way? Thank you

Unplug the appliance.

Take the décor door off.

Take the facia panel off.

You'll now have access to the lock.

Lever it into the open position.

Reassemble and try the machine again.

If you prefer, you can try and lever it open with a couple of thin screwdrivers through the slot in the inner door.

Unplug it first.

Then, try to rotate the lock into the open position.

The door and facia off is the easier method but it does mean stripping it down to get to it.

Try it out, let me know how it goes and get back to me if you get stuck or need more help.

hope this helps

Hi, thanks for the quick response but some of the screws are stripped so we cant open the unit. Can you explain in more detail how to use the two screwdriver method as nothing rotates that I can see

Sorry, it's really hard to try and explain.

You have a slot in the inner door that a latch goes into.

It pushes on a U shaped lock that rotates.

Look in and see if you can see the U shape. (probably not)

You have to lever this round.

I'm surprised the screws are stripped, they are torx screws and are multi point.

I've never come across any that have stripped the threads or the heads.
