Customer Question

Hi, my Bosch dishwasher has developed a fault. It seems that during a wash cycle it is pumping the water out of the machine to the drain system, so ends up running without water. I've removed the left side panel and can see that the water is being pumped out. Could it be a float switch that has stuck open?

Hi, sorry to hear about that, but yes it could be the float switch or even the solenoid that diverts the water form running in the machine to the drain, it may be just a stuck solenoid as happens quite often. Please let me know how far you would like to go with this thank you Tech Michael

I'm looking for a solution to the fault, not just agreeing with my initial diagnosis. I can tell from looking at the machine that the water is draining when it shouldn't, there are no leaks or water in the bottom, so I've deduced that it is either a dodgy float switch or a solenoid valve on the drain that has stuck open. I'm not sure that you will be able to tell me anything I don't already know, so maybe we should just leave it.

Hi I am working with you on this and mentioned the same, I do concur with what you are saying.
Usually it is the float switch so if you check that and I can assist if you need me I will be more than happy to do that for you.
Thank you
