Customer Question

i have a hoover dyc 88138 tumble dryer that cuts out after 20 mins or so with the fault code e08 having read threads online it is suggested that the tacho or bushes is the fault but the motor is bushless and no sign of tacho at the rear of the motor

I think the threads you read refer to some of the Hoover washing machines and not tumble dryers.

E08 on your dryer indicates the overheat thermostat on your machine has tripped.

Unplug the appliance, take the panel on the rear off and test the thermostats on the heater.

If it's tripped, you need a new heater (thermostats aren't available separately.

You'll also need to check why it tripped.

Check the condenser isn't blocked and the filter.

Check the fans are ok and that there's good airflow.

If there's a problem there, then the new heater will trip the same way, unless you cure the problem first.

Hope this helps
