Hi I have a washing Machine zj1218 prod XXXXXXXXXXX It stopped after a cycle but it now won't start. It just makes 4/5 clicks. The time shown is incorrect. Can you please help?

When it makes the clicks do you get an error code on the display like E40?

Hi no error code. I have tried holding the start and the delay button together. Thanks

Ok try this turn the dial to the reset then turn one click clockwise.

Then turn the washer off

Then press and hold the start button and the button to the left of it.

With them held in turn the dial 1 click clockwise

Once the leds start to flash let go of the buttons.

Now turn the dial 9 clicks clockwise and the error code should be there E??

Let me know the code then turn the washer off then on then back off again.

Hi when I turn to reset and click one to right, hold 2 buttons then e42 came up. I had the washer on the whole time. No error when turned 9 times clockwise.

Sorry for the delay. The E42 is the error code we was looking for.

This error code is something to do with the door lock.

Open the door and remove the plastic clamp around the seal and then unlip the door seal.

From there remove the 2 screws holding the door lock on and pull the lock through the port hole.

Remove the plastic cover over the wiring and pull the wiring block of the door lock and see if that's burnt out. If so then you need to retag the wires and replace the door lock and this should cure it.

If the wiring is ok then its proberly just a faulty lock which you need to replaced. Now sometimes it can be the control board at fault here but most of the time for this error code its the door lock or wiring to the lock.
