Hi we have a Seimens tumble dryer s46-59, and it has stopped

Customer Question

Hi we have a Seimens tumble dryer s46-59, and it has stopped working. All the lights come on and no obvious error message put after selecting the programme when you press the start button it beeps twice but nothing happens. The screen just shows a picture of a sun and what looks like the finish time. Any idea what we can do to get it working again?

KevinWhiteJA :

Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

How old is the dryer and please tell me its complete model number

JACUSTOMER-f59d6h47- : It is 4 years old. WT46S590GB/20
KevinWhiteJA :

Thanks...lets try to retrieve a stored code by following procedure:

Turn the Program selector switch to OFF position
Set program selector switch to "6-o'clock position"

While pressing the LOW HEAT button, set the program selector switch (clockwise) to the next position

Turn the selector back to the 1st position (off is position 0)
Press START button and let me know if any error message is displayed

JACUSTOMER-f59d6h47- : Does seem to be any different?
JACUSTOMER-f59d6h47- : I.e. Nothing happens
KevinWhiteJA :

Have you tried cleaning the lint etc.

JACUSTOMER-f59d6h47- : Yes done all of that
KevinWhiteJA :

and this beep sound continues even when the door is open or close ?

JACUSTOMER-f59d6h47- : It was the same, but if so I tried holding the door in and it started. So looks like the door isn't closing properly
KevinWhiteJA :

KevinWhiteJA :

looks like a fault door lock

JACUSTOMER-f59d6h47- : Do you know how I can fix it?
KevinWhiteJA :

You will have to unplug the unit and then take the top and side panel off.....first check the wiring to the door lock to the control board and make sure everything is fine with the wiring...if the wiring is fine then take the door lock off to inspect any obvious damage...replacing the door lock should solve the problem.

KevinWhiteJA :

also check the control board before replacing the lock

KevinWhiteJA :

just make sure nothing is wrong with the wires...

KevinWhiteJA :

Is there anything else I can assist you with today ?

KevinWhiteJA :

You can get back to me if you need any assistance and I will help with no additional charges....Please don't rate the solution till the time you are completely satisfied...Excellent feedback is appreciated.
