My Lavamat L63742VI has stopped mid cycle- hasnt drained or

Customer Question

My Lavamat L63742VI has stopped mid cycle- hasn't drained or spun. I drained the machine and cleaned the filter. Tried again and started the was again. It stopped again. I pressed the start button together with the time button to find error code EF5. I removed half the load, but the code remains

EF5 is an unbalanced load code.

If you take all the laundry out, cancel the existing program and then start it on spin only, what happens?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
At the moment, nothing. There's still some water in the drum which isn't emptying. When this initially happened and I manually drained it and cleaned the filter, I tried it on an empty spin and it worked so I thought I'd solved it. The wash time is counting down the spin programme but nothing is happening

OK, thanks for that.

It won't do anything if it's not drained.

Drain the water out again manually.
Check the filter again.

With nothing in the machine, put it on spin only.
Look into the open filter, is the X shaped impellor spinning?

The EF5 code is a bit strange though, I would have expected E21 for no drain.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
I'll do that now. By the way, when I press the buttons for error code now, it says E23- it has changed! Shall I still manually drain it?
Expert:  Techdesk replied 4 years ago.
E23 is rather more serious than a blockage.

Drain pump triac faulty
Drain pump faulty; Wiring faulty; PCB faulty.

However, I would still drain it and check to see if it spins.

Let me know what you find.

Now the machine is empty, spin is working fine
Expert:  Techdesk replied 4 years ago.
Is the drain pump running?
Is the x shaped item inside the filter area running?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Don't think so. Do you mean at the back ? I've taken the drain filter thing out and nothing is moving?
Expert:  Techdesk replied 4 years ago.
OK, the machine is reporting a fault drain pump triac.

This is component on the main control board.

Sorry, you need to check the drain pump to see if it's failed, check the wiring to it and if both are ok, it only leaves the control board.

In some cases, a faulty drain pump can damage the main bard.

Check it out, test the drain pump and replace it if it's failed.
With some luck, it's only the drain pump.

Get back to me if you need more help.

Hope this helps
