Our Siemans fridge made a cracking sort of noise when the door

Customer Question

Our Siemans fridge made a cracking sort of noise when the door was opened and now the door will only open part way; enough to retrieve a bottle of milk from the door. Guessing a hinge has failed? About 3 years old, model KU15RA50GB/01.

You've got it absolutely correct.

One of the springs leaves inside the hinge will have snapped.

If you can determine which one, you should be able to lever/pull out the broken spring.

The door will then open and close but won't be as effective as it was.

The cure is to obtain and fit new hinges.

You can get replacements direct from Siemens or from internet suppliers.

You can contact Siemens on #08448928999

Hope this helps
