I have a Hotpoint Futura HF8D393 A+++. It appears to work fine.

Customer Question

I have a Hotpoint Futura HF8D393 A+++. It appears to work fine. However, when it attempts fast spin at 40C it trips the mains. On resetting the mains it trips again when the machine is pugged into the socket even with the socket switched off. When machine left a while, I can plug in and sitch on to find the machine working fine again.

I suspect it might be a neautral line shorting to earth during the cycle; possibly a fault with the thermostat. Could you confirm if this might be the case and indicate a remedy?

It's more likely to be the motor going low insulation as it heats up.

When it trips again, take the rear panel off and unplug the motor.
Plug the machine in and see if it trips.

If it's no longer tripping, your motor will be the cause.

Let me know what you find.
