I have a Sanyo Combi Microwave, Model EMG4777S UK 2. Can you tell me whether the turntable should still be turning, when using the grill facility. As the grilling elements are at the back of the oven, the food is only under them for part of the time.

Yes, the turntable turns on any cooking/grilling function.

There's no provision for turning the turn table off.
This would have required more electronics to be fitted to the machine, thereby increasing the production costs.
This is really typical of all manufacturers who are trying to increase profitability.
