If waste water is getting into the machine then you need to alter the run of the drain hose.

Working from where it connects to the house drains.
I'm assuming it's onto a spigot rather than into a stand pipe.

The hose has to go from the spigot and up to the underside of the worktop before going down to the machine.

This gives you an inverted U.

This prevents the water backing up in the drain and getting into the drain hose.

As long as your hose goes higher than the overflow of the sink, you cannot get water going back into the machine.
The sink would have to be overflowing before water could get back to the machine using this method.

Check it out, see how you can achieve this (you may need to reroute your drain hose, especially if the kitchen fitters have the hoses going through a hole in the floor of the kitchen unit).

Get back to me if you need more help with this.

Hope this helps
