Hi I have just purchased a Neff T10K40X2 ceramic hob-black, have connected mains ALL 4 elements are lndicating ON however only 2 on Left hand are actually Glowing/Heating (lnstructions state error code if incorrectly connected)U400 THANK YOU
What were the connection points on the new hob marked?

Are you connecting with a 3 core wire?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

1,2, 3,live /brown

4,5 neutral/blue and of course separately an earth connection/yellow&green

OK, and are 1,2 and 3 all linked together?
Are 4 and 5 linked together?

If they are, it suggests you have a faulty hob.
If not, you need to put links in place.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

There is I can see a u peice physically placed between terminals 4&5 but not 1 2 &3 However why is it all 4 plates are indicating they are on when switched on

Because you have power to that part of the circuit but not to the actual elements.

There may not be any links supplied, in which case you'll need to make some using a part of the cable. (Your old hob may have links).

There is new cabling on the market with 5 and 6 cores for wiring up hobs, but, if you link 1, 2 and 3, you'll get your hob working.

Hope this helps
Let me know how it goes
