I have a maytag trilogy and there is a weird burning smell

Customer Question

I have a maytag trilogy and there is a weird burning smell coming from it. It smells like when a bug gets zapped in a halogen or burnt hair. It's also occasionally making a buzzing sound.

Shall I unplug it ?
Is it dangerous ?

Any ideas of how to isolate the problem

I am Tech Michael and I will be assisting you today.
Please be patient with us as these are technical questions and some testing may be required.
It may take a bit of back and forth conversation to be sure we have all the information in order to make a proper diagnosis.
I would unplug it for now.
May I have the full model #?
Also can you tell where the buzzing sound is coming from, down low in the back, or inside one of the compartments?
And, ho old is your fridge?
Thank you
Tech Michael
