I have a baumatic integral fridge that wasnt getting cold so bought a new thermostat ive nor marked the cables and want to know what to connect to what the new thermostat is a vt9 and the wires I have appear to be live and one for the compressor and also one going to the light
Any help would be appreciated

The new thermostat should have connections 3, 4 and 6 (as well as earth tags).

The live (normally brown) goes to 6
The compressor (normally black) goes to 4
The light goes to three.

If the compressor was running before you changed the thermostat, a new thermostat won't cure the fault.
If it wasn't running, then this may be the cure.

Hope this helps
