Hi, Our Siemens Siwamat XB 1060 has been excellent for 10 years,

Customer Question

Hi, Our Siemens Siwamat XB 1060 has been excellent for 10 years, but recently started leaking. I have investigated and found a leak in the front between the plastic outside drum around the inner metal drum. Water is coming out between the concrete and the plastic. I found a metal bra wire and a couple of strips of plastic in the water pump system and it looks as though the wire may have spun round and stripped some plastic from the outer plastic drum, eventually making a hole causing the leak. I have tried to access the plastic drum but cannot get the front cover off. Is this something I can access and then perhaps resin the area to repair? If not can the plastic drum be repaired or replaced and if so, at what cost. We live in France dept 85, Vendee, so who,is nearest agent?

Can you post the E-Nr number of the appliance please?
It should be on a label in the door recess.

OK, the front does come off.
Dispenser drawer out and bottom right screw removed.
Door seal taken off of the front panel.
Screws removed from the door lock (or if no screws, unclipped from the front panel).
Plastic cover below the front panel off.
Screws holding the front panel in place out.

Then, push down the front panel a little and pull it off and down.

If you still have problems, take the facia panel off.
There's no hidden screw shown but on some machines it's there.

Once off, you can see what you need to do to access the front of the tub.

If a front half is required then the part number is .217424
It's a UK machine but you should find the same part in France.

For local agents, you need to check with the French Siemens web site.

The UK website does not give information on overseas agents or repairers.

The front half of the tub has a price tag of over £106.
In addition to this, you will need to obtain and fit a new tub seal if replacing the front half. Part number is .264574 and will come with extra screws to screw the front and rear half together.

It's a big job so hopefully you'll find a way to patch the existing tub and save all the work.

Hope this helps
