Customer Question

Pfaff 211, quite old but hardly used. Keeps on jamming, and material will not move, tried altering tensions, length of stitch, everything. Reverse button sometmes will not go down also. Could it be the teeth on floor under needle?

Hello, sorry to hear about that.
How old is your machine?
Also can you tell me if you can look at the teeth with no material in the machine, please let me know if they move at all?
Thank you

Bought the machine In Germany in 1978 but as I said, hardly used.

On turning wheel by hand, no material, teeth are moving back and forth but reverse button still will not go down.

Thanks Valerie.
this is a very good machine to say the least.
What it needs is a new reverse switch, and that will likely fix it all, because that switch has connections that make the teeth operate correctly as well.
The best thing to do is simply have this serviced by any local Vacuum and sewing machine repair shop.
If you need a source for a good one please send me your state and town and I will see if there is a reputable one near you.
They will also make adjustments and lubrication as needed.
Its really a simple basic service and well worth the repair:-)
I will stick with you until this is fixed correctly but
since this may take some time, if you will rate my service in a positive fashion thus far before you close this page, the system will allow me to schedule free follow ups with you and also ensure your question will NOT close or time out;-)
You will then be able to contact me at anytime at no additional cost until we have this fixed for you.

Thank you Valerie and have a great Monday!
