Hi I have a Beko Wmi 71641 which will not was or spin although it fills and drains. Did self test and drum doesn't move. Originally gave code E11. Emptied filter but makes no difference now show only 1108 when starting in self test mode.

Hope you can help

Many thanks
How old is the machine?

How are your diy skills and toolkit?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.
About 2.5-3 years old

I'll give it a go but may need to wait for help for heavy lifting
E11 indicates an open circuit on the motor circuit.

Unplug the appliance.
Check the wiring to the motor to see if any have broken.
Check the motor, (2 types), and see if it has carbon brushes.
If it does, take the carbon brushes off and check to see if they have worn out or broken.

Let me know what you find.

Will need to wait till hubby's home to pull out washer.
Do I access motor from back or top of machine?

Can I keep this enquiry open for another hour or so?
Normally from the rear but, if your machine has an open base, you can check by having someone hold the machine tilted rearward.

Yes, you should have links in emails to bring you back here when you need to post again.

Can get to motor but looks like it needs specialist tools to remove. Have the necessary bit to remove two bolts but remaining are difficult to access. Any suggestions - do we need to remove anything else to gain access?
Can you see the carbon brushes either side of the motor?
They are in plastic holders.
If you can, take them off without taking the motor off.
If you can't see any, then it may be a 3 phase motor (both are used in this model).

Thank you! Have managed to remove a brush and have mailed you a piccii as I'm not sure if it is worn out or not. Can't see exact length on photo but it's about 10mm. Is this worn out?
Seems very short.

If you go to Ebay and search for Beko carbon brush it should show some pictures and give an idea.

Just took out the other brush which is almost none existent!

Is there any reason why they dont wear evenly.

I will replace both and hopefully it will work again

Thanks for your help

The motor runs in 1 direction more than the other.
The leading brush will wear quicker than the trailing one.

Hopefully it's just the carbons.
it can be the motor and/or the control but as the carbons are worn out, it's a very high chance that new ones will cure the problem.

If you could rate the help/answer I provided positively, it will keep your question open and if you find you need more help, you can just post to this thread.
I'll continue helping if further help is needed.

hope this helped
