Hi I have a zanussi IZ 141W.
during a cycle there was a local power cut. On restoration of power the washing machine would not start. The start/pause lamp continually flashes.
I manually drained the water from the machine.
on power up the machine continually looks the close the door as the lock keeps trying to activate. Closing the door it locks.
I can set any program. Try to skip to "drain" which is okay but machine will not go into drain or any other mode its is set in. The start lamp still flashes, continually on-off
would appear that it may be locked in a particular sequence on a program but how do I reset.
How old is your machine?
Does your machine have a display or only lights?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Only lights. Three led figure eight digits above start/pause buton

approx 7 to 10 years old

Thanks for that.

Switch off.
Press and hold together the start and skip buttons.
While holding, switch on.
The lights flash.
Release the buttons and the lights scroll.
Press and release the fabric button repeatedly until the light stops on the 2nd bottom led of the 2nd column.

Look at the column of 8 lights on the right.
Number them with 1 at the top.
Which numbers are lit/flashing?

Now switch off, on and off again.

E51 on restart EE0 is flashing and the machine is beeping and in cycle

Switch off, on and off again
You shouldn't get EE0.

E51 indicates a main board failure on the motor circuit.
This is normally associated with a faulty motor.

The fault in the motor blows the main board.

I'm afraid you're potentially looking at an extremely expensive repair.

Check the price of a motor and main board, you'll see how expensive a repair you are then looking at.

Sorry, not good news or a simple fix.
Check the motor, wiring and the main board see if you find any cause for the failure.
Check it out, see what you find and get back to me if you need more help.

Hope this helps

Thanks I will check this out

You're welcome.
Good luck with it.

The newest machine I found at technical was 2003 so bear in mind, your machine may well be 11 years old.

Hope this helps
